What's Suitable for all Screens?

Programming that is Suitable for All Screens is programming that can play on screens of all sizes, ranging from mobile phones to a theatrical screen and everything in between. We challenge you to submit a mod - a modular segment that is part of a larger something. It can be a story within a story, a traditional episode, prequel, sequel or segment -- and anything goes, as long as your mod is in an abbreviated subset of a larger body of work. Your mod cannot exceed 10 minutes in length.

Think scalable. Tell us how your mod is part of a web series, documentary, TV series or a chapter in a story. Explain how your mod configures within the context of your larger concept. Then, based either on popular vote for the People's Choice Award or by Jury Award, we will facilitate production of two winning projects over the remainder of the year. The winning mod will screen at the 2010 Topanga Film Festival. We will follow and document the production of the winning project and showcase it in a special screening at TFF 2011.

So What's next? Upload your mod, then blast out the good news via email or social utility. The People's Choice award is 100% by popular vote. The Jury Award will be made from the top ten viewed and rated submissions.

Disclaimer: The Topanga Film Festival reserves the right to substitute the Suitable for All Screens Jury Award "production package" for a lesser prize in the event that less than one hundred (100) short films or documentaries participate in the Suitable for All Screens competition. The "production package" will consist of gratuitious use by the Jury Award-winning filmmaker of: (a) a camera package consisting of one camera and corresponding lenses and equipment (exact contents of package are yet to be determined); (b) a sound package (contents yet to be determined): (c) a post-production package sufficient to complete non-linear digital and sound editing of a feature-length film or documentary (with exact specifics yet to be determined). It is contemplated that either 35mm, 16mm and/or digital stock may be a part of this package.
