LOGLINE: A woman and her daughter prepare for the arrival of a special guest whose failure to appear reveals an even greater insight into the woman’s mysterious past.
LARGER BODY OF WORK: The ideas behind Gold Hill the short film were taken from a full length feature film script written by the same writer. A synopsis for the full length feature can be found at www.goldhillmovie.com by clicking on the Feature Film tab located in the top right corner. Gold Hill the short is a sampler of the type of mood, music, cinematography, style and cast/crew which would be used for the full length feature.

Beautifully shot with dramatic lighting and use of colour in the choice of costume against the darkness of Gold Hill. I look forward to the big screen version!

Very picturesque. I really like the feature film idea behind this on your gold hill website. Makes me think of a fairy tale mixed with modern day drama. Hope you win!

What I like is that this piece draws me in…and that even though I get a story, I'm also left with questions…helps add an air of mystery to it…

Pretty – once I realized I had to adjust my monitor so the color wasn't too dark in places!
I'm curious what the feature film is about…
Good luck with selection process – we need more visually great pieces that have an air of mystery…I'm tired of the all the digital effects crap!

Hi Viggie
Thanks for the comments. The feature film is a mystery, suspense drama. They’ll be a heavy emphasis on the cinematography, music and story which has some surprising twist and turns. Glad you like the short – we look forward to the chance to bring the feature alive as there’s so much more depth and breadth behind this little piece we as filmmakers are ready to explore.
And yes, because the film was color graded on the big screen and downsized considerably – color can look “off” on the smaller screen depending on monitor adjustment etc!

Mystery, suspense, drama sounds good…at first you think this might be a chic flic…but the shift in perspective really works for this and makes me interested…I'll be there to see it in the cinema.
